Girls Can Build Initiative
She is not too young to start.
Somewhere in a classroom in Nigeria, there is a girl with an idea she does not yet know is worth something.
She has not been told that her curiosity is a skill. That her ability to solve problems is a business. That the internet is not just a place to consume, it is a place to create, to build, and to earn.
Girls Can Build exists to tell her.
What We Believe
We believe that digital literacy and an entrepreneurial mindset are not luxuries reserved for adults. They are tools every girl deserves access to and the earlier she has them, the further she can go.
We believe that when you teach a girl how to think like a builder, you change not just her future, but the future of her family, her community, and her nation.
We believe that Nigeria's next generation of founders, creators, and changemakers is sitting in secondary school classrooms right now, waiting for someone to show them what is possible.
Girls Can Build is that someone.
What We Do
We go directly into secondary schools across Nigeria and run hands-on workshops designed to introduce girls to two things that will serve them for the rest of their lives - digital literacy and entrepreneurial thinking.
Our workshops are practical, energetic, and built for the way young women actually learn. We do not lecture. We engage. We challenge. We equip.
Inside a Girls Can Build workshop, participants learn how to:
Identify problems worth solving and turn them into ideas worth building
Understand the basics of digital tools, online platforms, and how the internet works as a place of opportunity
Develop confidence in their voice, their ideas, and their ability to create something from nothing
Think like entrepreneurs - resourcefully, boldly, and with a long-term vision
See themselves as builders, not just consumers, of the digital world

Why Secondary Schools
The teenage years are when a girl begins to form her identity. She is deciding who she is, what she is capable of, and what kind of future is available to her.
This is the window.
Research consistently shows that girls who are exposed to entrepreneurship and digital skills during their formative years are more likely to start businesses, pursue careers in technology, and become financially independent adults.
Starting young is not just an advantage. It is a head start that compounds over a lifetime.
We want every Nigerian girl to have it.
The Girls Can Build Vision
We are building a Nigeria where no girl arrives at adulthood without the tools to build something of her own.
Where digital literacy is not a privilege for the few but a foundation for every girl, regardless of where she grew up, what school she attended, or what her family looks like.
Where the next generation of women in business does not have to start from scratch because someone showed up for them when they were fourteen.
That is what we are working toward. One school, one workshop, one girl at a time.
Get Involved
Girls Can Build runs on partnerships, passion, and people who believe that investing in a girl is one of the highest-return decisions a person or organisation can make.
There are several ways to be part of what we are building:
Partner With Us — Schools
If you run or are connected to a secondary school and you want Girls Can Build to come in and run a workshop, we would love to hear from you. We are actively expanding our school partnerships and looking for institutions that share our belief in equipping the next generation.

Sponsor a Workshop
Every workshop we run requires resources — facilitators, materials, and logistics. When you sponsor a Girls Can Build workshop, you are directly funding the experience of young women who would otherwise not have access to this kind of learning.
Your support can send us into a school, put tools in a girl's hands, and plant an idea that grows into a business years from now.

Volunteer as a Facilitator
Are you a business owner, digital professional, creative entrepreneur, or someone who simply believes in this mission? We are always looking for women who want to step into schools and show the next generation what is possible.
You do not need to be a teacher. You need to be real, relatable, and willing to show a room of teenage girls that women build things too.

Bring Girls Can Build to Your Community
If you are a community leader, a local government representative, a church or faith organisation, or simply someone with connections to secondary schools in your area, you can help us reach more girls. Help us get through the door.
